TSSA Safety Order: Ban of Majestic FSDV22, FSDV30, FSDV32 Fireplaces

Earlier this week, the Technical Safety and Standards Authority issued a safety order banning the sale and installation of certain Majestic fireplaces due to risk of injury from malfunctioning equipment.

If you have a Majestic fireplace model FSDV22, FSDV30, or FSDV32 please contact us immediately. These fireplaces may represent a serious safety hazard for you and your family.

Pursuant to section 14 of the Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000, the Director requires the following:

1. The following Gas Fireplaces manufactured by CFM Inc. (Majestic Fireplace) and bear the
trade names Insta-Flame or Northern Flame shall not be sold, leased, rented, installed or
used in Ontario:

(a) Natural Gas Fired Direct Vent Free Standing Fireplace – Model FSDV22, FSDV30
and FSDV32Series,

2. This Safety Order is effective immediately.
