Government of Canada Announces Rebates for New Energy Efficient Air Conditioners and Furnaces
Jul 13, 2011 - Mar 31, 2012
Canadians looking to purchase a new air conditioner or furnace can now qualify for hundreds of dollars in government rebates.
The Government of Canada announced today that it will be re-launching its popular ecoEnergy Retrofit Program.
“Our Government is committed to easing the burden of high energy costs on Canadians and putting more money back in their pockets,” Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver said this morning. “With this program, Canadians can make their homes more energy efficient and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Canada.”
From now until March 31, 2012, Canadian homeowners are eligible for up to $5,000 in grants to make their homes more energy efficient.
In particular, the ecoEnergy program offers special grants for anyone looking to purchase a new furnace, air conditioner, or HRV/ERV. These include:
- Up to $790 in rebates for a new energy efficient gas furnace
- $250 in rebates when you replace your air conditioner with a new energy efficient model
- $375 in rebates if you install a new heat recovery ventilator (HRV) or energy recovery ventilator (ERV)
Don’t forget, these Government of Canada rebates come in addition to the Heating and Cooling Incentive offered by the Ontario Power Authority. This means you could receive up to $1,040 in government and OPA rebates with a new energy efficient furnace or $650 if you replace your old AC with a new energy efficient model.
AtlasCare offers a variety of energy efficient furnaces, air conditioners, and HRV/ERV systems to help you take advantage of these government grants. Contact us today to learn more about getting the most of these special rebate programs.
