2011 was an incredible year of community giving at AtlasCare. Here are some of the highlights:
Annual MS Golf Charity Classic raises $41,000 – Multiple Sclerosis has affected many people in the AtlasCare family so it’s always been a priority to do what we can to help. We were proud to be a title sponsor of the tournament in support of the Mississauga Chapter.
Christmas Wish Fund – More than 100 gifts for children were collected at our annual Christmas Dinner Dance and donated to the Christmas Wish Fund.
Annual AtlasCare Comfort Drive – We are collecting adult-sized, gently-used winter coats, boots and apparel in support of Out of the Cold. Please drop off a donation, or leave one with a technician when we visit.
Care to Share donates $15,000 to local charities – December saw the conclusion of our Care to Share initiative, in which we donated $1,000 to 15 local charities nominated by members of the community. Recent recipients include Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, PFLAG (Parents Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), Burlington Central High School’s Take a Seat Campaign, Meal Exchange youth hunger challenge and Best Buddies, connecting people with intellectual disabilities and students.
